Amy Schumer Loves Gloria Steinem and Eloise, Hates ‘Fifty Shades’

August 11, 2016 - Fifty Shades of Grey

Amy Schumer gave The New York Times a look during her reader’s brain, and it’s unsurprisingly stocked with books by clever women.

Schumer told the Times that Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on a Train and Gloria Steinem’s My Life on a Road now live on her night stand. Schumer creates it transparent she has a soothing mark for Steinem. (For a record, a feeling’s mutual. Steinem told TIME final year that Schumer’s film, Trainwreck, was one of her favorites.)

Follow Motto on Facebook.

“I have review many of Gloria Steinem’s books, and we admire her greatly. we am now propitious adequate to call her a friend,” she said. “Spending time with her is such a thrill, since for years, my associate womanlike comic friends and we have been texting any other Gloria quotes to comfort one another while we’re out on a road.”

Schumer grew adult reading stories featuring womanlike protagonists. She pronounced that her favorite childhood books enclosed Nancy Drew and The Baby-Sitters Club series, yet that her “absolute favorite was and still is” Kay Thompson’s Eloise.

She shows no genuine honour for management or a standing quo. She marches to her possess beat,” Schumer said, “Several years back, my sister consecrated someone on Etsy to put me in an Eloise picture, and it’s my esteem possession.”

But one book Schumer can’t stand? Fifty Shades of Grey.

“I usually done it 3 pages in,” she said. “I desired a movie, though, and have watched it several times.”
