Fifty Shades of Grey has earned $338.4 million from tellurian box offices, apropos Universal Studios’ highest-grossing R-rated film internationally, and is quick coming a total domestic and general transport of $500 million.

The film has also been No. 1 for a third uninterrupted week in a quarrel and is a best-selling film of a year so far.

Its $338.4 million abroad gain now outrank those of Universal’s prior best-performing R-rated general hit, Ted, that warranted $332.4 million. Domestic gain of $147.8 million meant a film has warranted $486 million so far.

The largest unfamiliar marketplace for a film has been a U.K., where it has warranted $46.9 million.
